Oh yes, Israel is behind the horrible treatment of women in Gaza....
Pulitzer-prize winning author Alice Walker, who wrote "The Color Purple," is traveling to Gaza along with other female activists to highlight the effects of the Israeli offensive on Gaza's residents.When will the feminist movement wake up to the horrors of Islam???
"I feel that what is happening in the Middle East is very important because the situation is so volatile," said Walker, speaking by telephone Saturday from the Rafah border crossing as her group waited to travel into Gaza. "I love people, and I love children and I feel that the Palestinian child is just as precious as the African-American child, as the Jewish child."

Ill treatment of women is the same the world over.
I think the real issue is, that in the western world, we already agree that the treatment of some women by some types of Muslim practise is wrong.
The western world likes to think that Israel plays by the same rules we do - so when they aren't that needs to be pointed out.
Also, we have (slightly) more chance of altering Israel's behaviour than fundamentalist Islam. So you pick your battles.
Ill treatment of women is not the same the world over. Just go to Saudi Arabia...or just about any muslim country and find out.
