President Barack Obama says freedom of religion is central to peoples' ability to live together.Islam does NOT have a tradition of tolerance. Islam has treated Jews and Christians as dhimmis - apparently he has not heard of the word.
Obama on Thursday said Islam has a tradition of tolerance, something he saw firsthand as a child in Indonesia. Obama says people should be free to worship as they see fit and that Western countries should not impose restrictions on how Muslims practice their faith.
Obama acknowledges rules inside the United States have made it more difficult for American Muslims to donate to Islamic charities and says he is committed to ease such giving.

The Cairo speech, as was the case in his Germany speech, was another example of Barack Hussein Obama blaming American first. For example pursuant to 9/11 he said that “in some cases, it led us to act contrary to our ideals”.
What stopped him from saying something like “I’m proud of what American accomplished in the last eight years in the Middle East? Accomplishments like an Iraq that is now free of one of the worst tyrants that the world has known. An Iraq where free elections are held, and where women are now attending university.” Why Can't Obama be Proud of America?
Why did Barack Hussein Obama take a harsh line against Israeli, in particularly pursuant to its policy respecting the settlements?

I loved how he continues to skate around his heritage. He didn't say his father was born a Muslim. Nor did he forthrightly say his father became a Christian as he always left the impression during the election campaign. Nor did he proudly say that he, Obama, is a Christian.
Also as a woman I am profoundly insulted by his failing to defend women's rights and sexuality. As if the women in these countries have a choice about how they will lead their lives.
Islam as a religion of truth and progress? Not in my history books. They may have passed on Aristotle to the West (though there is some dispute if they or another group was responsible).
There are still an incredible lack of books translated into Arabic - they don't want to know about the outside world.
No mention of suicide bombers against civilians and soldiers, as if military casualties don't count (don't forget the Pentagon on Sept. 11 as one example).
