Same-Sex behavior found throughout animal world...

More proof that Same-sex attraction is completely natural...
Examples of same-sex behavior can be found in almost all species in the animal kingdom — from worms to frogs to birds — making the practice nearly universal among animals, according to a new review of research on the topic.

"It's clear that same-sex sexual behavior extends far beyond the well-known examples that dominate both the scientific and popular literature: for example, bonobos, dolphins, penguins and fruit flies," said Nathan Bailey, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California, Riverside.

Same-sex behaviors in different species are not all equivalent, the review finds. For instance, male fruit flies sometimes court other male flies, but this behavior is due to a missing gene that gives the flies the ability to distinguish between sexes, said Bailey, a co-author of the review. "That is very different from male bottlenose dolphins, who engage in same-sex interactions to facilitate group bonding, or female Laysan Albatross that can remain pair-bonded for life," he added.

Don't you ever think of anything else?

Does sex between frogs excite you?

Do you think my blog focuses on this issue?

Any evidence of exclusive homosexual behavior in the animal kingdom?

I think most animal behaviors defined as "homosexual" have a completely different purpose; for monkeys, it's in preparation for heterosexual intercourse, for example. Bottlenose dolphins may have some seemingly homosexual behavior for bonding purposes, but I'm sure you'll find that all of them are still heterosexual.

I agree with you on most points Fred but are you sure "animals do it too" will help mainstream the cause?

Homosexual acts are still considered anti-Biblical. You can't argue about that.

Just Being Honest: the cause is already mainstreamed, no? Same-sex Marriage is legal in Canada, and it will soon be legal in all of the EU...and the US is moving in the same direction.

What amazes me is that I don't post that many comments on stuff like this...but when I do, the crazies come out, no?

Yes, it is already mainstreamed and the vast, vast majority of Canadians don't give a rat's derrière who your partner is. I think we Canadians are an incredibly tolerant, welcoming and genuinely open-minded bunch. My partner is from the Carribean, darker than I am and speaks Spanish and we have never, in 20 years, encountered anything but polite interest and curiosity as to what language we're speaking, where we met, etc. I think the fundamentals of the cause are won. I just thought the animal analogy was a bit of a stretch. Dogs lick their balls in public. I don't know that's a sound basis for us to reconsider our hygiene practices. As far as the crazies go, you've got some of the most polite crazies around, I wouldn't get too worried.

Do all these animals sodomise each other?
When to guys or two girls like each other it is called friendship and it has nothing to do with homosexuality.

Geez, don't lump me in with that crap, Fred.

In my experience they are likely to be friends of yours who are trying to define those opposed to gay marriage.
