Want to buy some wind turbines???
Easy to talk about huge wind farms....
Texas oil billionaire T. Boone Pickens has called off plans to build the world's biggest wind farm in the Texas Panhandle, the Wall Street Journal said.
Pickens said the wind farm project was scuttled partly because of the lack of adequate transmission lines to carry the electricity from remote locations to cities, according to the paper.
The oil tycoon had hoped to build new transmission lines but could not secure financing, the paper said.
Pickens plans to find new homes for the turbines that he already agreed to buy, the paper said, citing a statement.

You really have to wonder how people like Picken's made their money ... certainly not like this !
First , commit to buy wind turbines , which need to be located in places where the wind blows ( but nobody lives there) , and ignore the transmission line losses and cost , then try to get some sucker to finance the transmission lines ... sheer genius at work !
I just got back from Sicily and my husband and I had to laugh because every time we saw clumps of these huge wind turbines on ideal sites for wind on the hilly terrain the turbines were not working. I think we saw them working just one time.
T. Boone Pickens saw a substantial green subsidy from the Democrats and went for it. He didn't do the research. The Democrats are not really interested in alternative energy sources, they just like to spout green philosphy. All gas and no substance.
sorry i live near west tx area we have the largest wind farm they work all the time but the wind always blows in west tx. and yes all he wants its small wind energy providers to pay for transmission lines so he can get a grid to all the pump jacks in the area
