Electric cars may not reduce carbon dioxide emissions - and could even increase them, a green lobby group warned yesterday.
The Environmental Transport Association said generating electricity - by burning coal and oil - to charge the so-called 'clean' cars could cancel out the benefit of abandoning fossil fuel vehicles.

The fact that they still use the term "Fossil fuel" shows how dense and outright stupid the Politicians are.
Oil has been found below the Ocean floor and on the surface of Albertan soil,the new Abiotic theory from about 8 years ago is based on that fact that Dinosaurs could not have swam all the way to Saudi Arabia for a mass suicide after digging below the deserts sands.
Nor did they dive down about 8000 feet in the Ocean to burrow into the mud for a mass suicide while some walked to Alberta to drop-dead in mass to create Fossil Fuel above sea level and on land.
Just look at how fast those Mercury CFL bulbs came to market by Government that actually handed them out like they did the Thylidomide in the late 50's to pregnant females.
This is what happens when idiots and morons get elected and use the Crisis-management style to Govern over the people. Things go on too long until the crisis happens and the only answer is to grab something less dangerous and play the White Knight that rescued the people.
