Another embarassment for Al Gore....

Not a good day for the Goracle...
There are many kinds of truth. Al Gore was poleaxed by an inconvenient one yesterday.

The former US Vice-President, who became an unlikely figurehead for the green movement after narrating the Oscar-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth, became entangled in a new climate change “spin” row.

Mr Gore, speaking at the Copenhagen climate change summit, stated the latest research showed that the Arctic could be completely ice-free in five years.

In his speech, Mr Gore told the conference: “These figures are fresh. Some of the models suggest to Dr [Wieslav] Maslowski that there is a 75 per cent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during the summer months, could be completely ice-free within five to seven years.”

However, the climatologist whose work Mr Gore was relying upon dropped the former Vice-President in the water with an icy blast.

“It’s unclear to me how this figure was arrived at,” Dr Maslowski said. “I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this.”

Mr Gore’s office later admitted that the 75 per cent figure was one used by Dr Maslowksi as a “ballpark figure” several years ago in a conversation with Mr Gore.

Thanks for the link, I left a comment because this man is our current day's, Hitler.

No expertise, no examples, no debate, no humility. He has been hoisted onto his pedestal and has no idea how to stay there, with the factual intellect that he professed to the masses that he possessed.

Buda-boom-bada-bing!

I recall reading maybe twenty-five years ago about a group of tourists who flew to the geographic North pole in a deHavilland Twin Otter, after landing on the ice and disembarking the pax, the pilot had just enough time to run back and radio a distress call before the aircraft went through the ice and sank. It happens.

Anecdotes don't replace science, but that's all the climate change crowd has for us when they're not completely faking it, so might as well fire back.

Real scientists have begun to distance themselves from the outrageous claims being used by the doomsayers.

Science will be hurt by this latest AGW campaign.

The scam is nearly up and everyone is ducking for cover trying to protect their own job.

How many years ago was it that Dr. Mazlowski issued this estimate? Has the five to seven year period expired? Is this just another one of the constantly moving targets that the greenies throw out there to panic the public?
Gore is just another Bernie Madoff in ill-fitting suits.

lol Powell that's what I was wondering when I first heard this on the radio this morning: How many years ago did this telephone call take place? Part of my reason for wondering that was logic, and the other part was because of an 1989 news vid with Jane Pauley that I posted on my blog recently. The quotes in that vid, from climate scientists, talked of how devasted the earth would be from Global Warming in the next one or two decades. Okay... so that was exactly 2 decades ago... and....???

One more fun thought - I saw that some of the detained protesters in Copenhagen were complaining because they were being held outside and they were... COLD.

How I wish that conference was being held in Edmonton or anywhere else in the Prairie provinces this week. Let's see them strip down in protest during -50C wind chill :)

To Kez Creates -
If this video is still available please send the link to Fred so he can post it. If he does, I promise to send it to everyone I know.
