Just as I hoped - snow in Copenhagen.....
Ahhh...I love this...
World leaders flying into Copenhagen today to discuss a solution to global warming will first face freezing weather as a blizzard dumped 10 centimeters (4 inches) of snow on the Danish capital overnight.
“Temperatures will stay low at least the next three days,” Henning Gisseloe, an official at Denmark’s Meteorological Institute, said today by telephone, forecasting more snow in coming days. “There’s a good chance of a white Christmas.”
Delegates from 193 countries have been in Copenhagen since Dec. 7 to discuss how to fund global greenhouse gas emission cuts. U.S. President Barack Obama will arrive before the summit is scheduled to end tomorrow.
Denmark has a maritime climate and milder winters than its Scandinavian neighbors. It hasn’t had a white Christmas for 14 years, under the DMI’s definition, and only had seven last century. Temperatures today fell as low as minus 4 Celsius (25 Fahrenheit)

At least Fred, you have come over to our side. Congratulations. Maybe you could have explained how global warming leads to the slowing of the gulf stream (from east to west) which in turns shifts weather patterns eastwards so what Denmark and us in Britain are presently suffering is directly related to global warming (waether usually associated with the same latitude at this time of the year much farther to the east). And at the climate change summit, great timing.
Your Al Gore poster is on its way Fred.
Do we expect a large number of AGW alarmists with frostbite for wearing their birkenstocks without socks?
CS
With all those limousines in Copenhagen there is little chance of the alarmists getting frostbite.
Now ,if all the snow prevents the Champagne from being trucked in,well there is your crisis...
You know Lucy....global warming leads to both cold and warm temperatures...it leads to both dryer and wetter climates.....anything you want, you can blame on global warming. Actually, the gulf stream has not been affected.
You'd better have a word with the MET office then Fred who have been saying that the West Europe cold snap was due to the effect of the gulf stream, similar to the way it shifted 2 summers ago when Britain had a terrible summer and the floods. If you have a more reliable source than their high tech weather systems, you should let them know.
Flipping a coin is just as accurate as most short term weather forecasts, and if you want to talk long term it is garbage in garbage out with computer modeling.
Lucy..post your sources..please...
By the way, the MET office has a horrible track record of predicting weather....
If i can track down a video of the weather forecast i will link it.
You are right anon, a weather forcaster once told me that they can only reliably forecast 2 days in advance, after that it is a best guess.
Lucy...the Met typically forecasts very hot summers...and then is surprised when things don't turn out...or when Britain is slightly more wet than usual......
I am not surprised you couldn't post the links....
I did look Fred but can't find the video of Wednesday mornings weather forecast when it was said.
You will just have to take my word and the million or so who was watching it at the time.
I knew you couldn't do it!
You're all talk, Lucy....
If i can find someone who videoed the Wed morning weather forecast for some reason then i would be happy to point you towards it. If not then the other 65 million of us over here will have to share the blame between us for not setting the video.
If you don't want to take my word for it then that's up to you, if you want to find out about climate change slowing the gulf stream and shifting weather patterns eastwards then google it and you might learn something.
Don't think you are going to get your Al Gore poster now also mister.
Talk, talk, talk, Lucy....but no action. I guess the truth hurts...
I can't be blamed for my nations use of the dvd recorder Fred. If i did i would delete every copy of X-Factor. I would also record every weather forecast just incase some pendant with a weak argument asks to see it before he believes me. I'm a journalist Fred, take my word for it, i'll see you right.
