Depression in the Canadian Public Service???
Consultants are worried about depression in the Public service!
"The public service is a tsunami of distractions -- meetings, everything questioned, delegated, people moving ... and no one is really in charge," said Wilkerson. "It's the most transient, fluid, unsettling work environment on the planet, so why wouldn't people be anxious and in distress? They are human beings."As you read the article, it becomes clear that the 'Harper government' is beind the depression. Why? Because people can feel job cuts coming. Gee, these people have the most secure jobs in the country and everybody gets a pension. If we really want to lower depression in the public service, then let's get rid of 25% of them and let them find fulfillment in the private sector. Then, they won't have time for depression. I expect better reporting in our newspapers then this.
