A gas attack on Afghan schoolgirls???
How low can the Taliban go???
More than 80 girls have fallen mysteriously ill in northern Afghanistan and authorities fear extremists may have poisoned them to keep them away from school.
Kunduz provincial spokesman Mahbobullah Sayedi blamed the illnesses on "enemies" who oppose education for girls. Girls were banned from going to school in most of Afghanistan before the Taliban government was overthrown in 2001.
Thirteen girls got sick at a school in Kunduz Sunday. Another 47 developed nausea and dizziness on Saturday, and 23 fell ill last Wednesday. The girls said they smelled something strange in their classroom before they got sick.
