I'm Muslim and I can tell you our religion doesnt teach to hate you. There is no authentic 100% verified and true indication from the Prophet Muhammad that says gays should be killed.
There are certain quotes attributed to them, but the reliable scholars say that it is not viewed as 100% reliable.
Sure Iran does things to homosexuals, but no one country is a representation of the actual religion - just like no on person is a representation of a religion :)
The only thing people can be punished by death for is murder (aka capital punishment) and adultery.
Muslims have no basis to mistreat you. Our religion teaches us to wish ALL humans well. You are a human and have rights and you deserve respect.
