Geert Wilders in Ottawa...

A nice report from Robert Sibley of the Ottawa Citizen...
Canadians will see the erosion of their cultural values, including freedom of speech, if they continue to follow multicultural policies that are allowing the Islamization of the country, says Dutch politician Geert Wilders.

"Multiculturalism, I'm afraid, has been a disaster, but only because it is being used as a tool to promote Islam," he said Tuesday evening in a private reception at the National Arts Centre.

The reception was jointly sponsored by the International Free Press Society and Ottawa-based Free Thinking Film Society.

Yes, and if the CPC has their way, it will soon be possible to sue every single person on the Blogging Tories for hate speech if they mentioned Geert Wilders and linked to any site mentioning him.

Bill C51, the upcoming omnibus crime bill, contains the most idiotic clause on "hateful speech" ever proposed to be put into legislation in Canada. It will be worse than the Human Rights Commission, by far.

If the CPC pushes this through, they have proven that they are no different than the Liberals, and that it's time to look for a new right wing party.

Geert is a bigot and against freedom of religion. Seriously, if it wasn't Islam, he'd be rallying people against people like me (atheists) and people like you (homosexuals).

If nothing else, his associations with white supremacist groups should be reason enough to avoid him at all costs.

But Geert is very supportive of gay rights....and is popular in the gay community. What white supremacist groups?

I'd rather you went down that rabbit hole on your own, G&R. You can start with Robert Spencer.

Here's a fun picture of Geert and Nick Griffin

If his stance is clearly against freedom of religion, then he is clearly against one of the cornerstones of western culture.

Geert is for the freedom of religions, Islams is not, they don't tolerate other religions, and we should not tolerate the intolerable, PMD you obviously did not understand his message.

So, Geert expresses his freedom for religion by wanting to ban a specific one? I understand the message quite well.

Cairo Declaration of Human Rights-currently ratified/adopted by 57 Muslim countries (who did not sign UN Human Rights)-recognizes only those human rights that are in accordance with SHARIA, the LAW OF ISLAM

Sharia means homosexuals are killed (examples Nigeria/SaudiArabia} or imprisoned for 10 to life. Sharia means "pagans" (ie you PMD - atheists, "witches"sorcery) are killed - other religions (christians, hindus, etc) have to pay "protection" tax or convert/be imprisoned/killed. Any Muslim who tries to leave Islam or adulterer can be killed. - Heck i haven't even gotten to women who are raped and then beaten for being raped, or the 8 year old child brides being forced to return to their abusive 45+ yr old husbands Don't worry about Geert - unless you have already converted to Islam - all the atheists i know CAN'T STAND ISLAM

Just like Global Warming/Climate Change, the Cons will do nothing. They are a weak government that is afraid of Global Warmestt/Climate Changers and it appears Islam. No backbone when it come to these two issues.

It will be like the Human Rights Commission - hate speach against Christians, atheists, women groups etc... or any group except Islam will be prosecuted, like at the present, through the HRC.

Well, Eda, I don't know of an atheist that sees much of a point to religion, at all. However, all the atheists I know are big on freedom of expression.

After the Muslims are effectively banned, then who's next? Because, you know, it won't change anything. The Soviet Union effectively banned Orthodox Christianity, and it was back the day after the Soviet Union collapsed.

And, finally, I don't know of any religious zealot in favour of competing religious ideas, a lack of religion or homosexuality. That such people can't rise to power in the West is a good thing.
