A very important Supreme Court case...

The Ottawa Citizen today has an article about upcoming Supreme Court Cases. One, in particular, stands out for its importance.
Among the most far-reaching of the 43 cases slated to begin in October is the appeal of Vancouver's Gary Leskun against the British Columbia Court of Appeal's refusal last year to cut off the $2,250-per-month spousal support he pays to his 57-year-old ex-wife. Sherry Leskun says she is too emotionally distressed to work, despite 34 years of banking experience, because her ex-husband cheated on her and left her in 1998 for his present wife, with whom he had an extended affair.

"It's our position that the decision of the B.C. Court of Appeal is re-importing fault back into no-fault divorce," said Alison Ouellet, one of the Vancouver lawyers who will argue the case for the husband in November.
The Court needs to deliver a stern message to Ms. Leskun that she should go out and get a job.
