Ontario needs new landfills immediately...

Modern efficient landfills actually generate energy (methane) and are environmentally-friendly. Now is not the time for dithering.

As early as today, there could be a vote in Washington that would help Michigan legislators close their border to Ontario garbage with just 90 days' notice.

If they do, Ontario has no place to put the 3.5 million tonnes of garbage it trucks to Michigan each year and precious little time to find a place.

And yet there is no plan.
