Is this the earliest representation of a gay couple?

This might be the earliest representation of a gay couple.

The tomb of Niankhkhnum and Khnumhotep has many scenes of two men in intimate embraces....and they were both manicurists. The tomb was discovered in 1964 and back then nobody thought anything about the illustrations. Now, Egyptologists are having a second look and many believe that they are, indeed, a same-sex couple.

From what research (little as that may be) I've done, Egypt wasn't full of sexual hangups, at least not to begin with.

However, manicurists? Man, that's going to be some joke fodder for years to come.

If they were gay, who cares? You remind me of those newspaper writers who write about the "achievements" of women. Anything is considered to be an "achievement for women" - anything, that if, done by a man would be consideed boring and day to day. Look notonly is she a professional engineer but she runs triathalons! oooooohhhh aaaahhhh.

Now I suppose you are going to get all gushy telling us about how Bumstab Manitoba hired the provinces first GAY DOG-CATCHER!!!!! ooooooohhhh aaaahhhhh

Big flippin deal.
