More on the Abdul Rahman case...

He's left Afghanistan and has been granted asylum in Italy.

We can breathe a sigh of relief. However, the bigger issue is that of Sharia law and the fact that this sort of thing could have happened in a number of countries - including Saudia Arabia, Iran etc. At some point, we are going to have to face up the fact that Sharia Law is inconsistent with human rights, as we understand them. This is a big issue - and one that we have yet to sit back and think about.
