The solution to global warming we've all been waiting for....
Pollution, what else?
With global warming becoming an increasingly dangerous problem, scientists have proposed a new solution: pollution. How about a really thick layer of pollution??? I'm for that.
According to the Associated Press, the new pro-pollution theory comes from a team of prominent scientists, among them a Nobel Prize winner.
Although the scientists say when they initially made the proposal, they knew it would startle policy makers. However, at the U.N. conference for climate change, the scientists received reactions of caution and curiosity.
The scientists are theorizing that if the world continues to warm to dangerous levels, a layer of pollution in the atmosphere could actually help cool the planet.

Well I think one issue that is definitely bi-partizan is curbing pollution. I mean... come on. We'd rather have global warming than a world like the city of Toronto in July, right?
"Last month, the World Health Organization noted that air pollution kills about 2 million people worldwide each year."
And ditto to that.
Polluting the atmosphere based on theories of global warming is just as dumb as signing on to a massive economic regulatory regime like Kyoto. One destroys our environment for no good reason, and the other destroys our economy for no good reason.
I should hope "pollution" in general is considered "dumb". I mean... I can think of no positive aspects of deliberate pollution. Even if it did curb global warming... it's like giving yourself cancer to cure AIDS.
I still blame it on that damn Sun.
It just goes to show how there's nothing even close to scientific consensus about either the causes of global warming or the best way to tackle it.
Its not accurate to call this idea 'pollution' - it would be a very carefully controled release of espicially produced particles. Not just throwing out whatever waste we feel like.
Its still a very high-risk idea. It might come to this in twenty years or so, but its certinly not something to be rushed into.
For now, just try to minimise the impact of climate change by more conventional means.
Sounds like UN logic, I think my head is going to explode from all this BS.
I guess that's why the third world emission limits isn't included in Kyoto, The UN wants to give them a chance to save the day by pouring out more pollution.
More circualar logic from the idiots and the UN.
How can these scientists get any real work done when they're so busy doing close visual inspections of their own colons?
Oh, and air pollution does not kill 2 million people each year. Those studies include chronic smokers, people who WORK in third world coal mines, and deaths from accidental carbon monoxide poisoning, just to name a few of their bogus sources. The World Health Organization is a big steaming pile, they aren't even willing to acknowledge the fact that outlawing DDT in Africa has caused more malaria deaths than the Black Plague.
