Billions of Aid won't help peace in the middle east..
In fact, it might actually increase terrorism....Daniel Pipes has written that there is a direct correlation between aid to the Palestinian Authority and terror.
While the billions of dollars promised at the Paris conference on Monday are likely to improve the living conditions of the Palestinians and strengthen their economy, there is no guarantee that the financial aid would have a moderating effect on many of them.
This money is mainly designed to keep Fatah in power and prevent Hamas from taking over the West Bank. And unless the PA changes its rhetoric and starts promoting real peace and coexistence with Israel, the millions of dollars are not going to create a new generation of moderate Palestinians.

I agree with you 100%.
One question you might like to think about,
" Why are the Muslim countries in the middle east not taking care of their own."
followed by,
"Why is Canada giving any money to the Palestinians?
We the people in Canada owe the Palestinians nothing.
Harper should stop sending another dollar until the Palestinian people stop terrorizing the Jews.
Once the homicide killers and the rocket lauchin' muslims stop their actions for 15 years, then Harper should start sending them money.
After all, Harper will still be in power for 15 years.
Or maybe just 10?
Aid should follow results, not anticipate them. But I disagree with the statement that had more of the money not gone into the pockets of Arafat's cronies and into the "welfare of the Palestinians" instead, that the Palestinians would not have resorted to violence or Hamas. This is far too benign a reading of the Palestinians' collective mentality and objectives. Changing that ought to be the real goal of Western policy, and it is a long term goal that will not be accomplished by handing over cheques.
Aid givers have the blood of jewish restaurant patrons and bus passengers on their hands.
