'Hundreds' rally for Kyoto...

Yes, the headline says that 'hundreds across Canada rally to demand Ottawa take action on climate change'...

I saw the demonstrators on Parliament Hill on TV, and it looked like perhaps one hundred people. I guess people can't get TOO worked up about this issue.

It's too cold to protest against global warming right now.

"Holding nine-month-old Charlie Phoenix in her arms, Marcia McVean, 36, spoke of the importance of stopping climate change so that her two young sons might have a brighter future"

For the love of God, won't somebody please think of the children?

Fred, where were all these 'dozens'! of protestors before the conservatives took power? I don't recall these people so vocal when the liberals were Kyoto signatories through two majorities...and did nothing!

Were they stupid enough to believe that the liberals would keep their word on this issue?..or is this just another stick to bash the conservatives and the west in general?

Perhaps Ms. McVean doesn't realize that Harper is thinking about the children.

I wonder how bright a future her children will have if some hot air agreement puts the final nail in the coffin of our manufacturing industry. Without jobs for the parents, her children won't have a very nice present or future.

Meanwhile, Ms. Hassum of the Harper-dialing cell phone doesn't seem too interested in thinking about 'the children' when it comes to banning University of Toronto pro-life groups from being allowed to contribute to FROSH kits.

Where do they think the government will get tax money to pay them if Kyoto is implemented? The government provides their income now, but with Kyoto the rapacious taxes just won't be there.
