Terry Glavin on Bloody Sunday Apology...

A long overdue apology...this is from Terry Glavin's blog.
Shortly before 3 p.m., the marchers arrived in Guildhall Square singing We Shall Overcome. Some entered the small walled space crying. Others bore giant banners carrying pictures of the 14 victims:

Paddy Doherty, 31. Gerald Donaghy, 17. Jackie Duddy, 17. Hugh Gilmour, 17. Michael Kelly, 17. Michael McDaid, 20. Kevin McElhinney, 17. Barney McGuigan, 41. Gerald McKinney, 35. Willie McKinney, 26. William Nash, 19. Jim Wray, 22. John Young, 17. John Johnston, 59.

Each of them innocent. This is how they died.
"This is a day of huge moment and deep emotion in Derry. The people of my city did not just live through Bloody Sunday; they have lived with it since. . .The Prime Minister’s welcome statement and the statement that will be made by the families on the steps of the Guildhall will be the most significant records of this day on the back of the report that has been published. However, perhaps the most important and poignant words from today will not be heard here or on the airwaves. Relatives will stand at the graves of victims and their parents to tell of a travesty finally arrested, of innocence vindicated and of promises kept, and as they do so, they can invoke the civil rights anthem when they say, We have overcome. We have overcome this day."
- Mark Durkan, MP for Foyle.

It shouldn't end with an apology. The soldiers who did the killing should now be prosecuted for murder.

Hanz, start lobbying Germany, France, Belgium and the rest of the EUSSR to arrest Edward Heath, everyone in the British Army and anyone connected with Bloody Sunday should they accidently enter one of the saintly countries.

Go on, it's not just Israel that commits "war crimes", is it?

Yeah, the soldiers bloody well should be prosecuted, and anyone else, politicians or whatever, who ordered them to shoot. And I lived in London during the IRA terror bombings and I still think the Brits were wrong. Does this make me a self-hating brit? nope.

At the same time, shooting stone throwing protesters was an "every other sunday" occurrence in the Occupied Territories, and where's Terry's outrage about that? Or are Irish stone-throwers protesting British settlers more worthy of outrage than Palestinian ones?

The UN must halt all proceedings and table daily motions about the "war crimes" of the Imperial British Nation. I for one won't let this rest until there's a worldwide boycott of Britain and its culture and every country from South American tinpot dictatorships to Socialist European Utopias makes it known that Britain is a racist nazi country and must Free Ireland NOW.

I would be up for that Nemesis and it is great to see you joining the rest of us with eyes in our head in seeing that Israel have committed war crimes. That is a big step.

No, "war crimes" was in quotations, as in not really war crimes.
