Yay...our own version of Fox News is coming....

Boy, do we need this...
Quebec billionaire Pierre Karl Péladeau is attempting a major shakeup of television news in Canada, with plans to launch a 24-hour cable channel modelled on the right-leaning U.S. network Fox News.

It is a shot aimed directly at CBC and CTV, which for years have dominated the all-news format in English Canada. For months, Mr. Péladeau's Montreal-based media empire, Quebecor Inc., has been putting together plans for a channel that will tap the same conservative sentiment that has made Fox News a major contender for ratings in the U.S.

To operate the upstart news network, Quebecor has enlisted a former senior aide to Prime Minister Stephen Harper to oversee the operations. Kory Teneycke, who served as director of communications to Mr. Harper in 2008 and 2009, has been appointed vice-president of business development at Quebecor Media Inc. and will lead the new project.

David Aiken had resigned from canwest to perhaps be the first host of this network.
If they get this up and running, cbc/ctv honchos will be sorry they dissed Kory.

Calm down Juniper, it won't happen here luckily because of the TV regulations that doesn't allow bias.

Hanz, open your eyes and ears when watching cbc/ctv. You will see bias in full display, also you will see mistruths, spin, and outright lies spread as truth.

I am sure that it didn't Kory that long to figure out what CBC CTV have turn out to be- arrogant, insulting, manipulative.

The prime minister being the first canadian government ever to set foot in South Korea and give a speech in the assembly was not heard much in the media yet when Obama makes a moves, the canadian media is there to report. Kory sees this and so do we.
Fortunately, we have the blogs yet for those who don't have a computer and have no choice but listen to the CBC CTV daily news hoping to hear something different are the ones that the media focuses on for the media's own purpose.

Hanz, Fox News broadcasts in the UK because they are a comment channel not a news channel.

If Iranian State news can broadcast here so can a right-leaning channel.

The problem with people like you is you're so wrapped up in your world view you think absolute crap all the time.

Nemesis, what can i say to that last comment. Nothing seems apt so it can just stand there as a momument to your crashing stupidity. Admit it Nemesis, you are the brains of this set up right?

Hanz has never seen Sky because he hates Murdoch and its Lizard Empire, so is unaware of the existance of Fox or Iranian State News (broadcasting out of London). Instead he resorts to name calling.

What a plonker.
