Stop the bathroom stings...

People might be chortling about the sting that snared Senator Larry Craig in the US...but, do we really need bathroom stings???
A foot-tapping ritual was a common thread in many of the 41 arrests reported during a four-month airport bathroom sting that snared Sen. Larry Craig.

An undercover officer would take a seat in a stall. Soon another man would sit in the stall next door and start tapping his foot, perhaps moving it closer to the officer's. The officer would move his foot up and down slowly. The suspect might then extend his hand under the divider between the stalls, sometimes repeatedly.

That would be enough to get the man busted.

Yes... they DO need bathroom "stings" when people had been complaining for some time about inappropriate activities going on in there. The fact that they caught someone "famous" is beside the point.

Geez, who other than gay men would look for anonymous sex in a bathroom?

Perhaps we should post, on the door, activities that are allowed in the toilet, and those prohibited, just so innocent guys like the not- really- gay -Senator don't make this same mistake again.

As a straight man, knowing that bathroom stings are happening makes me 'uncomfortable'. I think public restroom sex is deplorable, no matter who does it, but is it a crime? Just like the Mary J busts. Where's the victim?

As a heterosexual man who has not only propositioned in this manner but been 'peeped' at surreptitiously through small holes carefully drilled the stall wall, close to the paper dispenser so as to be inconspicuous, I have no problem with this sting operation at all.

I will add that in my youth I must have one hellaciously good looking guy because I have been propositioned openly many times by homosexual people who were upfront about themselves and were able to take no for an answer. That, I don't have a problem with. Sneaking and peeping in public bathrooms is not acceptable behaviour. Period.

Kursk, what type of 'straight' sex might a straight man find in a public washroom?

a.n..you would have to be extremely naive to believe that every man that walks into a public washroom for a quick BJ is gay..

as someone who grew up on the mean streets of T.O. in the seventies, i can assure you that i knew plenty of male hustlers who serviced a strictly hetro clientel.

I have no way of doing a scientific poll, but i will guarantee you that if you were to ask police who have arrested men in these cases, they would say the vast majority are straight, and married!.

All they are getting is a little something the wife doesn't provide!

There must be some other definition of "gay" that I'm not familiar with... cuz the one I know is that if you are looking for sex with men you're GAY. Bi-curious? Nope - GAY. There are exactly ZERO hetero guys looking for blowjobs from men... there are only those gay men who are, to quote Family Guy, "are so deep in the closet they're finding Christmas presents".

It doesn't matter if he is gay or not gay....he is not a criminal...and this sting just results in the arrests of innocent people.
