Hoping for warmer weather....
A 6-kilometre ice jam??? Is this normal??
Two ice experts are in Prince George, B.C. to assess the six-kilometre-long ice clog at the meeting of the Fraser and Nechako rivers. The ice jam forced the Nechako over its banks yesterday, setting off a state of local emergency.
About 50 residences and a dozen businesses in the area are on evacuation order.
Wire-mesh dikes have been set up about 2.7 kilometres along the river to keep the water in place.
Firefighters from the Ministry of Forests and inmates from the Prince George jail are helping with sandbagging.
Officials are hoping forecasted warmer weather will help break up the ice.

"Is this normal?"
I don't know. Prince George is way the hell up North, and I've never been there.
What I will tell you is that the Hon. Shirley Bond, Deputy Premier of BC, Minister of a bunch of stuff, mother of four, lifelong Prince George resident and all around wonderful person has been on the major Vancouver news radio station, commenting about it over the last day or two.
And know what she says? In her whole life, she's never seen anything like it.

Al Gore claim the world is about to burn up from the GHG's we exhale , Linda McQuaid asserted that Iraq was abuot keeping Oil prices below $40.00 a Barrel .
So as you travel off to your job in a car that now costs about 1.20 a Litre to sit there and idle in the mounds of snow .....just Thank God for Al and Linda protecting us from what could have happened if we didn't try to tackle Global warming or if Bush hadn't have invaded Iraq .
We would have had no snow at all while gas would be around $3.00 a Litre , Phew....that was close.
