Is the West starting to fall for Hamas?
In today's Sydney Morning Herald in Australia, there is a headline, "Positive Hamas signal for Israel.
Hamas is "ready to recognise" Israel if it gives the Palestinian people their full rights and a state in lands occupied since 1967, says the Palestinian Prime Minister-designate.The plain fact of the matter is that this is not positive at all. What exactly would this entail from Israel?
He also said Hamas was ready to consider talks with Israel if the Jewish state withdrew from the West Bank and East Jerusalem and recognised the "right of return" for Palestinian refugees who fled in the 1948 war and their descendants.
o Giving up the Golan Heights to Syria without a poltical agreement.
o Giving up all of the old city of Jerusalem to the Palestinians including the Wailing Wall.
o Letting 3-4 million Palestinians move to Israel and thus change the demographics of the country.
This is all unacceptable....but the press seems to think that this is some sort of positive move. This is very depressing.....and, as I predict, the EU and others will not want to end funding for the Palestinian Authority.
