Gore's Hypocrisy....

Well...more evidence of his hypocrisy....

What's this? Global warming guru Al Gore caught on tape refusing to endorse the Kyoto accord? Yep.

In his recent special, Exposed: The Climate of Fear, CNN's Glenn Beck showed some priceless footage of then vice-president Gore explaining in 1997 why he didn't support U.S. participation in the Kyoto accord.

"We will not submit this (Kyoto) for ratification until there's meaningful participation by key developing nations" Gore said.

Problem is, Kyoto required nothing of developing countries such as China and India when Gore made that statement 10 years ago, doesn't require anything of them now and won't require anything of them before it expires in 2012.

As Christopher Horner, author of The Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming and Environmentalism, dryly observes in Beck's report:

"That's the Gore standard. That standard still has not been met. That was the standard George Bush articulated, too, but he's mean."

Kyoto has done exactly the opposite that world socialists had envisioned for the environment. China and India are doing everything in their power to increase output before 2012 arrives and they may be asked to clean it up a bit. Kyoto has been an unqualified failure since the beginning with the end result being more pollution, not less. Even if all the signers of Kyoto had been successful in gutting their economies, the result would still have been more pollution overall. Even if there was a drop in pollution from Kyoto, the planet would still have warmed as it has and will. We have no control over that and those who think we do are arrogant and ignorant.

Canada signed on to the Kyoto Accord. The governing party at that time, the Liberals, sat on it for 12 years and did absolutely nothing to implement it. Emissions rose dramaticly during the ensuing years. Now that they are no longer in power, they are demanding that our new Conservative government implement it, and reverse the increases in emissions of the years of their own neglect and meet Kyoto's targets within the next 5 years. That's an impossible task. But our brave leaders in our new Conservative government are implementing some changes which will do much toward the goals of Kyoto.

Gore recently visited our fair province. The Saskatchewan New Democratic Party, is the governing party, paid for Gore to come here and preach his gospel on global warming. One of our Crown Corporations (using our tax dollars) paid for most of it's staff to attend this event.
Many schools bussed their students to this event (once again tax dollars).
This meant with most of the tickets sold, (being they were paid for by tax dollars), the government could claim a resounding success in paying for Gore to come. If all those people had to pay for their own tickets, they would not have had many people come.
