Snow packs in California...
Just a small indicator on global warming...
In the United States, California’s Yosemite National Park has had an unusually long, wet winter. Snow packs in the Sierra Nevada mountains are around 180% of their average. This has brought a spectacular spring snowmelt; waterfalls are beyond capacity and are quite a spectacle for tourists. As one reader pointed out to me, this is not really indicative of anything regarding global warming, but of El Nino and precipitation. Which is why not every glacier that is retreating is a sign of global warming.
